So I just found The USAF Heritage of America Band's website, which allows you to download mp3's of their pieces. Very cool. A great resourse if you're interested in band music, especially marches, though they've got some other stuff listed up there, too. Check it out.

Portable Drive-in
This sounds like a great idea: throw together a few necessary components on your car, and make a portable drive-in movie theater. I actually sounds like a really fun idea, and could be a great thing to try out with a bunch of friends on some uneventful evening. Now, if I only had a projector...and someone to watch it with.

swearing tv stars
Just got back from Missouri earlier tonight, now I can't sleep, even though I'm dead tired...I'll give more about that later, but for now, here's the point:
I had found this clip probably about a year ago, through something like metafilter, and have recently been dying to see it again...now I found it through Someone Else's Life.
Here's a direct link.

Ask Mefi comes to the rescue again...
Ask Metafilter helps rescue a guy who had his fingers stuck in a chinese finger trap. The image of him stuck, while trying to desperately type for help, and his coworkers laughing at him is just too good to not picture.
More fun with google maps
So people are apparently having a lot of fun fooling with the interface for google maps. Now I've found a site that will find you a zip code, or tell you what zip code an area is...potentially handy, I guess.
This'll brighten your day
One of the funniest MetaTalk threads in a while...it actually made me start laughing out loud in the middle of my room.

A great challenge course resourse
I recently found a great Ask Mefi post on icebreakers. People give their opinions on everything from their favorite little games (mafia picked up a few new supporters), to why they hate icebreakers in general. Most were able to throw in one or two suggestions, even of the least horrible one, if they hated them in general.

The most adorable thing ever...
A collaborative comic by two artists of 'How we got engaged.'

More Google Maps fun..
This time, you can find the area enclosed within any three or more points. It's quite fun to play around with (the 40 acres turns out to only be the square of roads containing inner campus drive. The bus route lies...that's much more than 40 acres.) Have some fun with it!
Awesome Firefox Wallpapers
I just found some kick-ass Firefox Wallpapers. There are a bunch of different styles, but all of them are nice, and crisp, in my opinion.
ACL Fest Resourses
For those of us going to Austin City Limits Music Festival, there are so many bands, and different stages, one has to have some idea of where one wants to go beforehand. To aid me in that task, I've found the customixable ACL Fest schedule (my preliminary schedule's code is ACL255305). Besides a printable .pdf version, there's also a iPod-installable schedule, as well, for both Macs and PC's. What looks to be quite useful (though I haven't had a chance to explore it yet) is Janet Timmons' ACL Fest Guide entries profiling the bands, and giving links to samples of their music. While the ACL site itself has something similar, her reviews appear to be a bit more thorough, and provide more links, and such. Of course, there's always the map of the festival grounds, and an overhead picture from last year's festival.
That's all I've got for now.

When interactive maps, and census unite!
This is so cool: combining Google maps with 2000 census data. You can browse around the country by just clicking and dragging, just like Google maps normally behaves, but when you click a point, a summary of census information comes up about the area. It's really more fun to fool around with than my measly description implies. Go check it out.

Source
So I'm a dork, and was curious as to the actual source of the "'Tis better to..." quote I just used. Apparently, there's more to it than I thought:
- I hold it true, whate'er befall
- I feel it, when I sorrow most;
- 'Tis better to have loved and lost
- Than never to have loved at all.
Google SMS
Maybe this will help get my blog back on the track I had planned it for, and decrease the amount of self-pity around here: get useful google results through your phone. It seems like a great idea, adn incredibly useful to those among us who have mild to severe text-messaging addictions. Now I'll just have to try to remember to try it out...

Chilling...
So...not much going on here. I don't head back to school for over a week still, so I'm just hanging around the house, catching up on random jobs and chores. I've lined stuff up to work at camp both this coming wednesday (belaying for TCU for 3 hours) and next weekend (as a counselor for a Emanuel-Dallas confirmation retreat). So, those are nice, because, even though I don't know how much I'll make belaying, I'll make $150 for the weekend, which can buy me a plane ticket to Lubbock! God, that'll be great. I'm about to head off to school, and Austin, and already, I can't wait to leave, and go to Lubbock, a place no one should want to go to. Maybe that's proof that there's something wrong with me, but I've got someone there waiting for me who is it totally worth the trip.
Anyway, I don't really have any interesting links or sites at the moment, as I haven't had much time to catch up with my normal sites. Once I get back to school, I'll have more time to catch up on stuff, and post some stuff here. Untill then, have a lovely day, whoever you are, and I'm off to get some breakfast and work on my and my sister's computers.
